Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte visits Tunisia

The visit by the Prime Minister  Mr.  Giuseppe Conte to Tunis " represents s an important opportunity for  sharing ideas   - said the ‘premier’ - on key topics  for both countries ,  such as economic and trade exchanges,  development cooperation and immigration." These were  the topics dealt with in the meeting between the Italian Prime Minister , Mr. Giuseppe Conte , and the Tunisian Prime Minister, Mr.  Youssef Chahed , held in Tunis during the Italian Prime Minister's mission to the Maghreb country.  Mr.  Conte expressed "the appreciation of the Italian government for the efforts exercised by the Tunisian authorities in the control of migration flows. A separate discussion was held on the topic of  economic cooperation: Italy is Tunisia's second trading partner with a bilateral exchange amounting  to around 5.6 billion Euros  in 2017 and an active  balance. Italy is the second customer and the first supplier of  Tunisia, with a 15.5% market share, several collaboration projects and over 850 Italian companies operating in Tunisia, including Eni, Ansaldo and Colacem with the company CAT.

During the visit to the Embassy, ​​the General Director of CAT-Colacem, Dr. Giuseppe Colaiacovo, had the opportunity to meet the Italian Prime Minister personally , and to share with him some of  the most relevant  commercial issues related to the Tunisian company , including  the economic and political scenario where  it plays a leading role .
