A new confirmation of CAT’s commitment to a sustainable environment
The CAT plant was the setting of an unannounced visit by the Minister of the Environment, Mr. Habib Abid, who was accompanied by the Governor of Tunis, Mr. Imed Boukhris, the Member of Parliament Mr. Amine El Ouerghi, the delegate of Jebel Jelloud Mr. Rami Seddik, the CEO of ONAS, the Regional Director of ONAS, the Regional Director of the Environment, as well as a number of local and regional officials.
The visit began with a working session held at the CAT General Management, during which several topics were addressed and discussed. The Chairman of the Board of Directors, Mr. Andrea Salinelli, recalled that CAT has been a member of the Global Compact for several years and that, as part of its CSR commitment, it will continue to strengthen its collaboration with the Ministry of the Environment and local authorities to contribute to environmental protection and to the development of social initiatives in favor of local partners and surrounding communities. Mr. Salinelli also recalled that, in this context, several actions are being carried out by CAT, in particular the development of the use of alternative fuels, the use of renewable energies and the recovery of wastewater within the process.
Accompanied by Mr. Andrea Salinelli as well as several CAT managers, the Minister of the Environment and the entire delegation visited different departments of the plant and were able to closely observe the main achievements and investments made by CAT for environmental protection, as well as the new technologies and best practices adopted by the company in this field. The visitors also toured the laboratory and were able to take note of the level of controls carried out on the different products.
This visit once again confirms the good relations established by CAT with its national and local partners and strengthens its reputation as a transparent and responsible company, committed to creating a healthy and safe environment for its various stakeholders and its surrounding community.
