The Industrial Engineering Master’s students from UMH visiting Colacem Alicante
Particular attention was given to the plant’s automation systems
Last Friday, a group of professors and students from the Master’s Degree in Industrial Engineering at the Miguel Hernández University of Elche (Alicante) visited Colacem España’s port terminal in Alicante.
The visit was led by Fernando Morillo, Plant Manager of the Alicante terminal, and Juan Jesús Gil, Director of Colacem España.
During the tour, the students received information about the plant’s technical features, operational and logistics processes, as well as aspects related to quality, environment, and occupational safety. Given the nature of their academic program, particular emphasis was placed on the technical and engineering aspects of the facility. The students showed great interest in the plant’s automation systems, and all their questions were thoroughly addressed throughout the visit.
This initiative is part of the broader collaboration between the concessionaire Terminales Marítimas del Sureste, the Alicante Port Authority, and Colacem España, with the aim of promoting knowledge of the facilities and companies operating in the Port of Alicante among local groups and communities.
