Colacem Spa has been marketing its product in the Albanian market since 1994. As a result of the country’s social and economic growth in 2008, Colacem decided to present an investment plan for the construction of the cement factory based in Balldre, Lezha.

In the same year, Colacem was granted the mining permission, the environmental permission /authorization as well as the construction permission.

The foundation stone was laid on March 1st, 2009 during a symbolic ceremony that marked the official beginning date of works. The first step of this important investment plan was concluded on October 22nd, 2009 with the grinding plant.
