The President of Paraguay on a private visit to Colacem

The President of the Republic of Paraguay was on a private visit to the headquarters  of the General Direction of Colacem company in  Gubbio, with the aim of personally see and get to know one of the most important Italian firms in the cement sector .

The visit , which was  strictly private, involved also the  Ghigiano cement plant, which followed  a meeting had with the Colaiacovo Families, owners of the company that received  the delegation with their utmost pleasure and proud  .

Mr. Mario Abdo Benitez had been previously  received by Pope Francis at the “Palazzo Apostolico”  and by the President of the Italian Republic, Mr. Sergio Mattarella at the “Quirinale”. The company based in Gubbio was, therefore,  the only economic/business  appointment in Italy for  the Paraguayan President.

In addition to  the Head of State, the delegation was made up of  Mr. Luis Castiglioni, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Denis Lichi, Minister of Agriculture, Mrs. Mónica Cramer, Minister of Industry and Commerce, Mr. Federico González, Councilor of Affairs and Mr. Roberto Melgarejo, Ambassador of Paraguay in Italy.

The President's sons were also present along with his wife , Mrs. Silvana Abdo, Mrs. Mónica Seifart, Legal Adviser, Mrs. Miriam Castiglioni, Mrs. Rocío Kanonnikoff and Mrs. Nora Zapag.

During the visit, in addition to the meetings held at the headquarters of the General Direction  of Colacem and  the Ghigiano cement plant, the President had the opportunity to visit the “ Chiesa della Vittorina” . At the end of the visit, the delegation met the Mayor of Gubbio during lunch at the Park Hotel Ai Cappuccini,.

The Colaiacovo Families would honor the President with an artistic lusterware pottery depicting Saint Francis and the Wolf.
